The gentlemen of Kappa Alpha Order follow the motto of “Dieu et les Dames” refering to the importance of living life with a high respect for God and Women.
Kappa Alpha Order is college order of knights and American Social Fraternity. The word “order” relates to a society of persons united by possession of traits of mutual distinction. Kappa Alpha Order believes each member before joining carries similar ideals in life and KA takes those ideals and improves them. In no case does KA try to change a new member, we strive in making each brother better as a whole. In relation to KA it is a group of men aspiring to the qualities of the true gentlemen.
With 131 active chapters and 147,000 initiated members, Kappa Alpha continues to be a leader among fraternities.
Through fellowship and brotherhood, KA seeks to teach young men to be leaders; to be brave, self reliant, and to continually strive to better themselves.
The brotherhood in Kappa Alpha lasts a lifetime. It starts the instant you accept a bid for membership. In order to receive a bid from Kappa Alpha Order 100% approval of the chapter is necessary. In other words, the unity of our chapter has no comparison to the other fraternities on campus.
The members of Kappa Alpha Order pride themselves on a tradition of chivalry and a beckoning to the traditions of the southern gentleman and reminiscent of the Knights of the Crusades. The members of Kappa Alpha Order strive for excellence and gain trust, obedience, and loyalty through the KA brotherhood.
Muscular Distrophy Association(MDA) is our national philantrophy. Kappa Alpha Order contributes over $500,000 a year.
Gamma Lambda is a chapter who has a long standing history at the University of North Texas. Originally referred to as the "Talons" and later founded under Kappa Alpha in the early 1950's.
Our chapter and KA nationally supports our national Philanthropy MDA or Muscular Dystrophy. Gamma Lambda donating over $2000 in the past year.
